Obviously they are just as excited about the prospect of Cloverfield 2 as I am since they seem to be seeing clues where there are none. Posting the headline "Cloverfield 2 Teaser Poster?" originally made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and the tip of my wang tingle ever so slightly. That was until I opened the webpage to see the picture to the left. Unfortunately this isn't an image of N ew York City trying to rebuild after the devestating attack by Cloverfield Palin (full name), it's some boring History Channel documentary about how boring statues can be or some such nonsense.

While J.J. One of the creators of the show, Adam Reed, responded to the news:

Well, we’re just incredibly stoked about getting another season of Archer. And I think FX has really shown a lot of faith in the show by giving it a chance to grow its audience. The show is doing well on iTunes, and very well on Hulu, so I think you’re right that it’s been in a competitive time slot. And then there’s those pesky Olympics… I’m just now starting to sift through the huge stack of cocktail napkins on which I’ve been scribbling ideas for season two; if I can make out even half of these scrawls, there should be plenty of storylines.

Reed's writing partner Matt Thompson responded to the news in prose:

We are super excited.
Really awesome to make cartoons for a living.
Even better that we get to do it from Atlanta.
We just have no desire to move to LA and make TV.

The time slot was a killer.
Plus we were not paired with anything / didn’t have a lead in.
We were alone on an island.
Plus people loves them some Burn Notice.
The TIVO numbers have been great to us.
Same with HULU.
I think it all rolls in to FX’s thinking on the pick up.
Whatever it was, we are thrilled.

It's exciting to see two such nice guys get a chance in Hollywood. On his second show back from his long-winter's nap the scheduled guests are Olympic snowboarder and righteous dude (I hope I said that right) Shaun White and our future overlord Sarah Palin. It seems like a strange panel but actually they're both used to frigid temperatures, both have ridden someone or something into fame, and they both appear to be raging idiots.

But that's not even the fun part. Glam rocker Adam Lambert announced on his Twitter page that he would also be appearing on the same night. Now NBC doesn't have any information about this on their website but hopefully Lambert just got a little excited about the planned, Sarah Palin, This is Your Life! segment. "Sarah, you may recognize this person as someone who made a choice you wouldn't make and then went on to piss off all of the people who love you by kissing a dude."

The show is highly enjoyable and lighthearted but it is difficult to watch now without the fate of the young star at the forefront of our minds. Sam was a simple premise about a free-spirited teen coming to live with her fussy, uptight sister and showing that they both have things to learn from each other. The sisters, played by the forementions Schaeffer and Mork's main squeeze Pam Dawber were surrounded by a brilliant cast of supporting players from Jenny O'Hara (Doug's mom on King of Queens), Joel Brooks (Mrs. Garrett's probably gay, accountant son on The Facts of Life and best gay friend in countless movies from the 80s), and David Naughton (self confessed Pepper and US citizen and werewolf curse recipient). The laughs were fast and furious but the best thing about the entire show was Sam's fantastic San Francisco loft apartment/studio. It's worth watching for that alone.

Officials at SNL won't comment on this possibility since skits and scripts are likely to change up until show time, but it would be ree-donkulous is they didn't take this opportunity to recapture that golden age when Tina Fey was the most famous woman in the world.

This Friday the network will begin airing four new series' from some of the greatest comedic talent working today. First off is Funny or Die Presents, a new half hour series that compiles clips from the comedy video website that Adam McKay and Will Ferrell co-created in 2007. Funny or Die Presents is another step along the road to the fusion of Internet video and television video which has Network Executives crapping their dockers on casual Fridays. When the series was announced, Ferrell sarcastically asserted the deal was "the missing link moment where TV and Internet finally merge."

The show is introduced by a 1950s-style TV host who notes: "Funny or Die is at the forefront of computer technology, leading the way in computer comedy programming. Tonight marks a departure from our usual business model as we join the ever-declining world of broadcast television." Co-creator Adam McKay, best known as the director of comedies such as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and the I-can-kind-of-see-what-you-were-going-for Step Brothers," says that joke is "70 percent true and 30 percent joking." This makes him not only a comedy genius but a math genius as well.

In addition to this repurposing of web video material there is also the highly-anticipated repurposing of podcast material when he Ricky Gervais podcast gets animated for HBOs new series The Ricky Gervais Show. Gervais was inspired to make the show by fan-created images when he realized that recreating the podcast antics with cohosts Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkerton would be boring and time consuming for everybody involved.

"Because Karl goes off on these flights of fancy, these fantastical stories where he personifies chimpanzees, it lends itself so well [to animation]," says Gervais, who calls the product "re-al-imation." "The worst thing would be if the cartoon made it worse — and I think not only does it not do that, but it brings it to life."

Gervais, who describes his cartoon self as a cross between Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble, wanted his show to look "warm and retro," partly to soften Pilkington's bizarre takes on such hot topic subjects as race, disability and the Holocaust. Pilkington's childlike nature helps, too.
In addition to these new shows Real Time with Bill Maher returns for an eighth season and The Life and Times of Tim is coming back for round two. The stud hasn't even appeared as Alcide Herveaux on True Blood yet and he already has a new job. Manganiello has been cast in a new sitcom from the creators of How I Met Your Mother (on which Manganiello has a recurring role) entitled Livin' on a Prayer. Considering the apostrophe and religious conotation I originally thought this show was going to be about Sarah Palin's 2012 Presidential aspirations but as it turns out the show is basically How I Met Your Mother or Friends set in Philadelphia. Manganiello will play a former high school football star whose hopes and dreams were dashed when he got saddled with a wife and a few annoying children, all of whom have yet to be cast. The show will debut this fall after the world falls head over feet in love with Joe Manganiello on True Blood so despite the shaky premise it may actually stand a chance.

Well....... It's...... Hmmmm? Anyway, she finally got her own series! Well not really, actually. After a quiet exit from Saturday Night Live several years ago (especially when compared to Molly Shannon's raucous Molly-centric final episode around the same time) Oteri has kept a low profile. She's back now and making a big splash with her very own web-series on AMC.com. In Life Coach Oteri plays of all things a life coach and each episode will focus on one client trying to get his/her life in order during sessions in Oteri's live/work space. The irony is that Oteri's character can't seem to manage her own life, which is, I'm assuming where the comedy comes in. The first episode will feature the also-long-absent Mark Lin-Baker, better known as "Coozin Larry" from Perfect Strangers. And if I've said it once, I've said it a million times: The world needs the gentle comedy of Perfect Strangers and Cheri Oteri now more than ever.

First of all I doubt the veracity of this organization as they don't seem to honor any "good" television, choosing to slander and threaten boycotts on everything from Family Guy to The Today Show. Additionally there are a surprising number of stories about Janet Jackson's nipple on the website despite the several years and millions of dollars in fines that have passed since then. I do have to give credit to the website however for taking umbrage at perceived homophobia they saw on Archer, but they're even wrong about that.

However, the real point is Archer is absolutely hilarious, bawdy, offensive fun and you should be watching. The series centers around a covert government organization and the inept staff employed therein. Archer, voiced by H. Jon Benjamin, who is most recognizable as Ben in the old Dr. Katz series on Comedy Central, is the title character on the show but the supporting cast is just as funny and often more disturbing. If you like humor about fuzzy kittens and story lines where there's a huge misunderstanding about the cake for the bake sale then by all means head over to the Parents Television Council and get your panties all twisted up over Archer. If you enjoy humor about chocolate fountain threesomes, murder/sex fantasies, and snorting MSG of a fat chick's belly then do yourself a favor and watch Archer.

The creature has legs long enough to straddle a car or to put that into perspective, long enough to give Kevin Smith a bear hug. The crab's body is the size of a basketball and it measures 10 feet from claw to claw, which is scary but even scarier is the fact that the animal is still growing and scientist have not yet determined how old it is. Crabs can live up to 100 years of age and this could be a baby for all we know, meaning momma is out there somewhere and is probably erroneously headed to New York City right now in search of her baby. BBC American will begin airing season two of the Vampire meets werewolf meets ghost dramedy on July 25 and has also promised to air the third season of the renewed drama. According to a BBC America press release:

Russell Tovey, Lenora Crichlow and Aidan Turner return as George, Annie and Mitchell, the three twenty-somethings trying to live as normally as possible despite being a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost. After the death of vampire leader Herrick at the end of season one, the supernatural friends are hoping they can now get on with their lives, but an even greater danger is lurking, within the very human world of which they want to be a part.

Werewolf George is coming to terms with the fact that he has Herrick's blood on his hands, and a girlfriend who knows his horrific secret. Meanwhile, turning down the door of death has implications for ghost Annie, but her confidence is at a peak and she’s determined to stand up and be counted in the real world. And, with Herrick gone, Mitchell must appease the vampire world - can he find a way to lead by example?

Season 2 should be a good way to tide us over until the American remake of the show comes to the SyFy network later this year. Whether it be that little out of the way restaurant that serves the best lasagna in the world, or a really fancy bathroom in midtown that is open to the public, or where to go to see a hobo defecate in a box, New Yorkers love to be in the know. Well I feel I finally am and wanted to pass on the best show you're not seeing so that everyone in New York City and those considering visiting New York City can enjoy the show.

Last night I saw, for the second time, Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words. The premise is simple: actors and performers take the stage to read excepts from celebrity autobiographies ranging from Ivana Trump to The Jonas Brothers. The hilarity ensues when you see the absurdity and hubris of the celebrities' psyche when their words are read with tone and inflection by a rotating cast of comedic geniuses such as: Rachel Dratch (SNL), Kirsten Johnston (Third Rock from the Sun, Sex and the City), Scott Adsit (30 Rock), Mo Rocca (Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me, Sunday Morning, The Daily Show), Mario Cantone (Sex and the City, the steam room at New York Sports Club), and MANY MORE!

The highlight of the show comes when several performers take the stage to read excepts from multiple autobiographies which recount the same event, often with conflicting stories. One of the best that the show accomplishes is three performers reading from Burt Reynolds', Loni Anderson's, and Burt Reynolds' former assistant's autobiographies as they recount Burt and Loni's rocky relationship.

The venue is small and intimate, and the tickets aren't cheap (approximately $60 each plus a 2-drink minimum) but the laughs are well worth it. If you have family or friends visiting and want to keep them entertained for a couple hours, Celebrity Autobiography is an excellent choice as it is family friendly but bawdy enough so that you won't be bored. More information is available at the show's website and tickets are available via SmartTix.

Up first is what I am declaring as my favorite movie in the history of the world ever even though it doesn't come out until May, Clash of the Titans. Worthington will play Perseus and per our good friends over at Film School Rejects we have been assured that Bubo will appear.

Next up Worthington will be playing the most popular, iconic film character in history. Not Abraham Lincoln, but close. Dracula. “It’s a script I really like,” said director Alex Proyas (The Crow). “It’s about the origins of the legend of Dracula, but it has a new spin … It’s a movie that has to be done on a grand scale.” Translation - big budget Dracula film. We're about due for another.

All these roles beg the questions is Sam WORTHington all this money? Does he truly carry a film, or has this ruggedly handsome no-one simply lucked out with the right work? We all know that talent is not the only component necessary for a star (see Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jerry Seinfeld's television success) but does Sam have that IT factor that will make fans go see him in his own eventual Jingle All the Way where there aren't millions of dollars of robots, dragons, and spaceships supporting him? Can he survive a film with only Sinbad by his side? Only time will tell.

Meaning that you won't find the people who really matter in your life mentally counting to figure out if you were knocked up before your wedding. We all know that Pam Beasely on The Office was preggers before the big wedding day, but what we might not have realized is that by the time Pam has this baby she will have been pregnant for nearly a full 12 months. By Jim and Pam finding out that she was pregnant in May of '09, this means she was probably about 6-8 weeks pregnant putting her conception date sometime in March. Well the delivery of the baby was originally scheduled to air March 11, making Baby JAM near elephantine gestation length. Luckily someone possibly noticed this and decided to move up the delivery up by one week to March 4, airing the planned two-parter as one full-hour episode as soon as the Network returns from the snoozefest known as the Winter Olympics. This doesn't completely correct the overly-long pregnancy for Jenna Fischer, but it's better.

Part one has Pam going into labor at the office, and she and Jim trying to delay their trip to the hospital as long as possible while her co-workers attempt to distract her from the contractions. The second part of the hour-long episode deals with Michael's stress while waiting for the news of the delivery. As an added bonus we get to see Andy get upset when Erin goes out to lunch with doofy Kevin.
